Japanese stereoviews and more
An amazing set of Meiji era stereoviews by Japanese and Western stereo-photographers, assembled by Flickr user Okinawa Soba. I recommend checking out his other sets too, such as the T. Enami glass slides one. Pity of the all-caps shouting and the sometimes overly verbose descriptions, but nevertheless worth a look :-)

I agree on both counts. The photos posted by Okinawa_Soba's are great. And yes, as you say, his captions are many times pitifully verbose. Further, his over use of the caps function is sometimes distracting to the point of madness. That being said, he appears to be grudgingly forgiven by the many who pour over his valuable images, making full use of helpful links he supplies. It takes all kinds to make a world, as they say. He thanks you for your kind link to his site and sets.
